19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging year, managing just one match at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has gradually improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden title following the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from spring of the previous year.
The win also signifies the Russian has secured twenty-one victories at 21 different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
The player's retrieving approach and frequent emotional displays on court had led observers to doubt if his ability to compete at the elite level was finished.
Yet the player has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to advance forward and perform aggressively, supported by an improved serve.
He recovered from a break down in the first set against the challenging opponent, securing 4 of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors traded service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his initial ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to force a third set.
The opponent defended four initial break points in a competitive final set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, Medvedev clinched the win with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
